Doctor Fun's To-Do List

None of this stuff is probably going to happen soon, but I'm hoping by simply putting this list online it will galvanize me into finding time to make some changes I've been thinking about for awhile. This list is posted with the disclaimer that almost all the time I have for Doctor Fun these days goes into drawing the cartoons themselves. (And that's ... ok.)

Short term stuff (by the end of the summer)

UPDATE - Most of this stuff will be rolled into a general cosmetic overhaul (fancy GIFs! Long download times!), which I intend to have ready before Doctor Fun's third birthday (9/24/96). THUMBNAILS - Go back to the older, larger, greyscale GIF thumbnails. Some readers have complained that the current 33% color JPEGS are too small and they can't read the captions. I'd like to make the text in the captions legible on the thumbnails, but also keep the size smaller and encourage people to still download the color version.

LOGOS - Readers who have followed the cartoon for awhile have probably noticed that the logo hasn't updated too often lately. Mostly this is because I've been spending the time I have developing the artwork on the cartoon, and also because the logo kind of got lost in the Horse Latitudes of United Media for awhile and was also turning into a sort of "can-you-top-this?" which finally got rather tiresome. I'm going to go back to smaller, less-ambitious, more frequently-updated logos which will appear as an inline GIF on the Doctor Fun home page instead of as a link.

FAQ - Long overdue. What can I say? Everybody's waiting for my rant about United Media.

LINK PAGE - A page for people who put up reciprocal links, or sent me a nice note, or sent me a nasty note, or sent me a C note (just kidding) or didn't send me a note at all.

Long term stuff

MIRRORS - Some way to keep track of which mirrors are actually up-to-date.

SEARCH ENGINE - The old one broke a long time ago.

IMPROVED ARCHIVE - A page with just dates and links to the cartoon for people who don't want to download the captions and thumbnails. You can, of course, do half of this already just by turning off "load inline images".
